Euro Space Center - A Space Odyssey

One GIANT STEP for School Travel...

July 20th this year marked the 50th anniversary of humankind's first steps on the moon so what a great time to introduce your students to the world of space travel with a visit to the Euro Space Center in Belgium.

The educational programs for schools including astronaut camps and the space initiation programs make the Euro Space Center a unique centre of its kind in Europe.

The Multimedia Exhibition "A Space Odyssey" is more than just an exhibition. Covering a surface of 1.700m², the tour is a real attraction, a cocktail of lights, sounds, colours, projection techniques and reconstruction of images. It is a journey through time from the origin of the universe to the most futuristic projects of space exploration. An optional addition to the indoor visit is the access to the Moonwalk chair. A few steps during which you only weigh 1/6th of your actual weight!

Astronaut Camp runs from 2 to 6 days at the Center’s accommodation facilities. The trainees will learn how to read the parameters on their computer screens. They will take part in the simulation of a space mission including all the real procedures for take-off, the insertion of the shuttle into orbit, the launch of a satellite, a meeting with the Space Station, the re-entry phase into the atmosphere, and finally, the landing.
