Maths LIVE! Student Conference Event for KS4 at Disneyland® Paris

Event Dates: 

Monday 1st February and Monday 1st March 2027

Show your students maths in action at our Maths LIVE! conference.  A half day conference where students will hear from a variety of passionate mathematicians, combined with practical student activities all within the magic of Disneyland®  Paris. 

Fun and learning in one!.

Our motivational Mathematicians will use real-life experiences and situations to show learners how mathematics is all around us.  It is not a subject to be feared but celebrated for the answers it can provide to real life problems. There will be the opportunity to ask questions of our mathematicians and learn about careers associated with the subject during the interactive Q&A sessions.

As part of the immersive educational experience, each student will receive their own workbook in advance of the event for pre-trip preparation as well as park challenges for them to complete throughout the course of the weekend, all covering the fundamentals of Maths at Key Stage 4.

The event is aimed at Key Stage 4 students of Maths and is designed to complement studies within the AQA, OCR, Edexcel syllabus as well as complementing WJEC and SQA qualifications.

Q&A Session

Our lively and interactive question and answer session gives the students control to ask the questions they want answers to.  All the speakers take to the stage to answer questions to provide different perspectives and to offer invaluable career advice from their own experience.

Workbook and Park Challenges

Our complementary workbooks are designed to be used as your group enjoy the Disney® Parks.  The workbooks contain park challenges which encourage students to take a step back and critically appraise the resort from their subject perspective. These park challenges provide opportunity for problem solving, decision making as well as working together so that your students get the maximum from the their time at Disneyland® Paris.

Sophie Maclean

Sophie Maclean is a mathematician and experienced maths communicator currently studying for a PhD in Maths in London. When not discovering new maths, Sophie shares her love of maths with others by delivering talks and workshops all around the UK and beyond. Sophie has spoken at the Cheltenham Science Festival, been featured on BBC and Channel 5 news, and writes articles via both the Heidelberg Laureate Forum and as part of the Chalkdust team.
