Our expert speakers are selected to meet the learning objectives of the national curriculum at KS3, and students can put their own questions to our experts during a Q&A session. As part of this immersive STEM event, students take part in park challenges covering the fundamentals of STEM subjects at KS3.

Expert speaker presentations - through real-life experiences, our speakers will give students the chance to hear how STEM progresses through hypothesis, practical experimentation, observation, theory development and review.


Q&A session - an interactive question and answer session to support an understanding of the nature, processes and methods of STEM subjects, and help students answer questions about the world around them.


Team park challenges - challenges encourage students to apply observational, practical, enquiry and problem-solving skills, in a new and unique learning environment.


Events Team in Disneyland® Paris - our team will provide support during your stay, being on hand to register your group at the conference, answer any questions you may have and provide assistance throughout the event.

Dr Matt Pritchard - Facilitator 1st February and 1st March

Dr Matt Pritchard is an award‑winning magician, comedian and science and maths communicator who brings learning to life through curiosity, creativity and wonder. With a background in atomic physics research at Durham University, Matt combines deep scientific knowledge with exceptional communication skills. During his time at Durham, he won the Institute of Physics’ Postgraduate Lecturer Award, recognising his ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and engagingly. He later joined the education department at Thinktank Science Museum in Birmingham, where he presented shows, delivered workshops and helped develop educational resources for schools and families.

Now working as an independent science communicator, he performs to more than 30,000 people each year and collaborates with organisations such as The Royal Society, the Royal Institution and the British Science Festival. With 18 years of experience working with school and family audiences, Matt is a true “Curator of Wonder” – perfectly placed to engage students, spark curiosity and show that science and maths are not just subjects to study, but tools to amaze, explore and understand the world.. Alongside his academic career, Matt has spent over 25 years as a professional magician and is an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle – an honour held by only around 300 people worldwide.

Workbook and Park Challenges

Our complementary workbooks are designed to be used as your group enjoy the Disney® Parks.  The workbooks contain park challenges which encourage students to take a step back and critically appraise the resort from their subject perspective. These park challenges provide opportunity for problem solving, decision making as well as working together so that your students get the maximum from the their time at Disneyland® Paris.

Q&A Session

Our lively and interactive question and answer session gives the students control to ask the questions they want answers to.  All the speakers take to the stage to answer questions to provide different perspectives and to offer invaluable career advice from their own experience.

Abbie Hutty

Abbie Hutty is Chief Engineer at ispace Europe SA, where she leads the development of Lunar Rover missions. Prior to this role, she spent 12 years at Airbus space in the UK, working primarily on Mars Rover missions; first as Lead Structures Engineer and then as Systems Engineer and Delivery Manager on ExoMars – Europe’s first Rover mission to Mars, and then as a Principle Systems Engineer and Subsystem Manager on the NASA-ESA collaboration for the Mars Sample Return mission, the Sample Fetch Rover.

A chartered engineer with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering,  Abbie promotes the study of STEM subjects to the next generation. She appears in print, radio, televisual, and speaking roles including speaking at a UN conference, a TEDx talk, documentaries for BBC and the Discovery Channel, appearing in the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, and on BBC Stargazing Live with Brian Cox and Dara Ó Briain.

Study Levels

The event is aimed at Key Stage 3 students and is designed to complement classroom learning within the National Curriculum.


Educational Resources

An interactive workbook will be available prior to the event which will include questions for your students directly from the event speakers, and a series of challenges to complete in the parks making the event an immersive educational experience that will encourage and develop enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
