AWETHU is a program dedicated to equipping young people from Black and Global Majority communities with the tools to take action in their communities and change the face of climate justice conversations in 10 years’ time.

What is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and why should anyone care? In this keynote, Jess breaks it all down—no jargon, no lectures, just real talk. Whether your students are fired up about making the world a fairer place, or just want to be the kind of leader people actually want to work with, this session is their launchpad. Expect big ideas, lightbulb moments, and practical tips to help your students start showing up for equity in whatever path they choose.

Sean Spooner

Sean Spooner is a 30-year-old marketing entrepreneur, content creator and speaker. He has launched, operated and grown his own companies since the age of 14 and is the co-founder and Operations Director of Patter, one of the fastest-growing marketing consultancies in South Wales delivering strategy and marketing campaigns for clients around the world.

Sean’s presentation will look at how the business landscape is changing beneath our feet, and also how the routes into business are shifting at the same pace. Combined, these two ideas mean that students today are in a unique position to make a much greater impact in business, far sooner than was previously possible.

The talk will demonstrate how young people can win in business at any age, talking recent examples from news and popular culture, and linking these back to study topics.
