The National Portrait Gallery

There are over 200,000 portraits in this collection spanning as far back as the 16th century in the form of paintings, drawings, negatives, photographs, sculptures, prints and more. The Louvre          

Quite literally a city within the city. A vast, multi-level maze of galleries, passageways, staircases and escalators famous for the artistic glories it contains. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

MoMA’s permanent collection encompasses seven curatorial departments: Architecture and Design, Drawings, Film, Media, Painting and Sculpture, Photography, and Prints and Illustrated Books. Van Gogh Museum

Museu d'Història de Catalunya

Text, film, animated models and reproductions of everything from a medieval shoemaker's shop to a 1960s bar are crammed into two floors detailed a history of the Spanish region. There are some cool interactive workshops and a few excellent temporary exhibitions typically examining recent aspects of regional politics and history. Bauhaus-Archiv          

Bauhaus is one of the most important schools of architecture, design and art of the 20th century, and its products have maintained their influence on design up to the present day.
