Reasons to Visit

The city tour is an excellent introduction to the city, and will typically visit places such as the Sagrada Familia and other Gaudi landmarks, the Olympic Port, Montjuic and the Olympic Ring, the Old City. City tours can be tailored to meet your programme.

Bodegas Torres Audiovisual Presentation and Tour

The tour includes an audiovisual presentation of the Torres family history and the winery followed by a 'Tunnel of the Seasons', a multimedia experience with vineyard aromas. Afterwards enjoy a a train tour through the vineyards with with an audio-guide.

Poble Espanyol Educational Workshops

Cookery Lessons

Students can enjoy two sessions and tastings with a Spanish chef including a visit to the market to buy ingredients and practice their language skills. All students will receive an end of course certificate.

Port Aventura

This is now Spain’s number one tourist attraction, and one of the biggest theme parks in Europe. There is a mixture of shows, gentle rides, white knuckle rides and of course plenty of shops and places to eat. Workbooks on Business & Tourism and Spanish Language Studies fare available to accompany your visit to the park.

Ideal for pupils in Key Stage 4 & 5, visit Port Aventura's website ahead of your visit and download their Educational Planet guide with ideas for onsite learning activities.

Spanish Language Lessons

Montjuic Olympic Park

The Olympic Stadium staged the Olympic games in 1992 and can be toured to see where the action took place. It is located at the top of the Montjuic Mountain, reached by funicular railway, which offers spectacular views over the city.

Sagrada Familia

Worked on for over 100 years, the Sagrada Familia represents Gaudi’s dedication to build a church replete with precise symbolic meaning. The irony is that this masterpiece was unfinished by the time he died in 1926 and is still unfinished today. Located in the church crypt, the museum tells the story of how the building work evolved.

Tapas Tour

Go where the locals go and have fun while learning something in the experience. Spend an evening strolling along the historic streets of Barcelona with a knowledgeable guide while tasting a variety of Spain's culinary treasures.

Flamenco Show

Although not traditionally famed for its flamenco, Barcelona does still offer a range of shows and workshops to demonstrate this Spanish art form.

Girona

Located on a hilltop at the branching of two rivers, Girona is a town that combines local traditions with a modern feel and thriving arts scene. Girona offers treasures such as a vast Gothic and Romanesque Cathedral, a labyrinthine Jewish Quarter and Arab baths, only an hour from Barcelona.

Montserrat

At the top of the “Sacred Mountain” is a 9th Century Benedictine Monastery with a shrine to the “Black Virgin”. The dramatic location adds to the effect of the spiritual heart of Catalonia. Take the cable car to the top for spectacular views.

Parc Guell

Park Güell has the appearance of something from a fairytale: it is strange, eccentric, even somewhat dream like but undeniably beautiful. The park has the ability to awaken even the sleepiest imaginations.

This leafy park in the north of the city contains more examples of Gaudi’s work, namely a series of colonnades winding up the hill leading to a large central terrace projecting over a hall with a forest of distorted Doric columns. The park contains amazing stone structures, stunning tiling and fascinating buildings. At the entrance to Güell Park there is a picture showing the Guadi dragon fountain. The dragon is adorned in beautiful coloured tiling with something rather hypnotic and magical about it.

At the top of Güell park is a terraced area where you get a wonderful view of the park and of Barcelona City. The vibrant colours of the tiles are truly breathtaking. The Güell Park is a fantastic example of a movement of contemporary art guaranteed to inspire many students.

Beaches

With more than four miles of sand stretching from the reflective, sail-shaped W Hotel at the southern tip, all the way to the Parc del Fòrum to the north of the city, Barcelona's beaches are a major leisure facility. The beach provides space for volleyball, beach-side dominoes, water sports, climbing frames and exercise circuits.

RCD Espanyol

A guided tour through a unique setting. Have you ever imagined yourself being a coach? Speaking in the press room? Sitting in the new first team dressing room? Feeling pre-match nerves in the tunnel? Or even watching the game from the presidential box? An experience that brings you closer to the world of football and makes you feel like a footballer. The tour also includes a visit to the club’s museum and the multimedia area.

Spotify Camp Nou Experience

Trophies, documents, photographs and audiovisual shows trace the history of one of the greatest clubs in the world.

Chocolate Museum and Workshop

Discover the origins of chocolate and it's arrival in Europe. Learn about how the cocoa bean is transformed into the chocolate we see every day. Groups will also take part in a lollipop making and decorating workshop, using techniques and confectionary tools to create something delicious to eat!
