The DfE recognises the significant benefits of educational visits for children’s educational development as well as their mental health and wellbeing and is taking steps to allow children to enjoy visits in line with the government’s roadmap.
In line with Step 4 of the Roadmap, the DfE has published new ‘Schools COVID-19 operational guidance’ for the start of the new academic year.
Key dates:

Domestic educational day visits resume from 12th April 2021.

Domestic residential educational visits resume from 17th May 2021.

New bookings for domestic residential educational visits can be made from 10th May 2021 onwards. New bookings for international visits can be made from 6th September 2021.

International visits can resume from the start of the 2021-22 academic year.
