School Trips to Vienna

School trips to Vienna provide a cultural experience like no other, where you can take in the delights of this wonderful city that is steeped in a rich history.

Vienna is known around the world as the city on the Danube. You can enjoy the glorious sights of this world-famous river with one of the extremely popular Boat Cruises that circle the 21km-long Danube Island. It was originally created as a flood defence passing the modern skyline of the city as well as “green Vienna”.

A school trip to Vienna offers students the chance to explore a selection of some of the finest buildings on the continent. Indulge in the historical beauty of impressive archaeological buildings such as Belvedere Palace, Schonbrunn Palace and the Hofburg Imperial Palace

Wherever you visit, the origins of what was once a huge Empire state are prevalent, with stark reminders of Austria’s Nazi past and role in the Cold War bearing the scars of the events of the 20th century. It is also home to Sigmund Freud and the birthplace of psychoanalysis making its appeal diverse and rich in tradition.

The Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museum) ranks among the richest and most important art collections in the world including paintings by Rubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Raphael, Titian, Velazquez and Bruegel. In addition, for art lovers, there is the Ca' Pesaro - International Gallery of Modern Art and Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s very first architectural project.

For a festive feel, why not visit in December when the beautifully decorated Christmas Market is in full swing with handmade gifts and seasonal treats galore?
