Top Tips from Our Travel Experts

"I love to visit Paris, its quick and easy to get to and has something for everyone. My own first experience of a school trip was here, and still I can always find something new to do. The Paris Visite travel pass allows you to use all of the public transport networks: the metro, tramway, bus, RER and SNCF Transilien networks and is valid for either 1, 2, 3 or 5 consecutive days (Zones 1-3 or 1-6). There are so many free popular sites such as Notre Dame, Sacre Coure, Jardin du Luxembourg, Arc de Triomphe (pre-book and pay locally to go up the top) and Galeries Lafayette (who also do a fashion show on Fridays at 3pm – must pre-book).  All Paris Museums and public monuments have free entry on the 1st Sunday of each month and museums are usually closed Mondays or Tuesdays. Most shops and businesses will be closed on Sundays, especially in more residential areas. The River Seine Cruise as a cost-effective, pleasant way to see the sites. The Tour Montparnasse is another cheap way to get some amazing views of the city from its viewing platform as well as the Eiffel Tower.”
