Design & Technology trips to Florence
Design & Technology trips to Florence
Supercar engineering meets Italian craftsmanship
Florence isn’t just the cradle of the Renaissance – it’s a high‑performance hub for world‑leading automotive design. Just beyond the city, iconic names like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati and Pagani push engineering to exhilarating extremes, making Florence an unforgettable destination for design & technology students.
From stepping inside legendary factories to seeing precision engineering up close in specialist museums, students witness how creativity, materials science and cutting‑edge technology come together to produce machines worth up to a million dollars. Whether your students are fascinated by product design, manufacturing, mechanics or innovation, Florence turns classroom theory into pure automotive awe — with a distinctly Italian flair.

“My top pick of things to see and do”
Florence is packed with creative inspiration, but here are a few standout experiences I always recommend for Design & Technology groups:
Pagani Factory Tours
Take a guided tour through the production facility of this supercar producer.
Ponte Vecchio
The most famous bridge in Florence and also the oldest, this structure with three stone arches replaced a wooden bridge which had crossed the Arno River at this spot since Roman times.
Bargello National Museum
The National Museum has its setting in one of the oldest buildings in Florence and one of the most beautiful in Italy.
Day Trip to Lucca & Pisa
Pisa is best known for its leaning tower and is a real must see for any trip to Tuscany, but the city also has Romanesque buildings, Gothic churches, Renaissance piazzas and a lively street life making it the ideal stop.
Ducati Museum & Factory
Located at the Ducati factory headquarters in Bologna, the 1,000 square metre Ducati Museum highlights 50 years of racetrack heritage.
Galleria Ferrari Museum
Situated only a short distance from the Ferrari plant and the Fiorano circuit, the Galleria, though it remains the property of the Comune of Maranello, has been run directly by Ferrari since 1995.
Lamborghini Museum
Opened in 2001, the Lamborghini Museum reviews all the important milestones reached by the House of the Raging Bull including all the exclusive supercars that have turned it into a legendary brand.
