It tells the amazing story of our own body and the impact of happiness on our health. More than 200 anatomical specimens of real human bodies show the complexity, resilience and vulnerability of the body.
Corpus Museum
This museum is almost impossible to miss as a giant orange man half inside and half outside the museum signifies that you are at the Corpus Museum, the world’s first museum to take visitors through the entire anatomy of the human body. Step inside the escalator, up the leg to the knee, journey through the intestines, the human heart right up to the tongue and pulsing neurons in the brain. A truly interactive journey through the workings of the human body. The museum is located just outside Amsterdam.
Artis Royal Zoo
Artis Royal Zoo was the first zoo to be established in the Netherlands, located right in the centre of Amsterdam. It is home to some 750 species of animals, including zebras, giraffes, elephants and chimpanzees. It is also home to the biggest Planetarium in the Netherlands.
Rijksmuseum
This is the largest museum in the Netherlands. There is a large selection of paintings from the 15th century, until around 1850, as well as decorative and oriental arts. If you only have limited time, head for the Dutch Masters on the 2nd floor, including Rembrandt’s ‘Night Watch’.
