French language enrichment & immersion experiences
What happens when students stop learning French and start living it?
Bring French to life in Paris and the Opal Coast
Whether they’re ordering lunch in a Paris café, asking questions at a local market on the Opal Coast, or taking part in activities at one of our exclusive French châteaux, students discover that French isn’t just a subject on a timetable. It’s a way to connect with the people, places and experiences around them.
At Esto, we’ve designed two distinct French language experiences based at our very own school-group friendly châteaux to help students build confidence, develop their communication skills and see the real-world value of the language they’re learning.
Choose from:
- French language enrichment – a supportive introduction to using French in real-life situations, with a blend of French and English throughout your stay.
- French language immersion – fully immersive experience where French becomes the sole language of everyday life.
Available on the Opal Coast and in Paris, these programmes are based at our school-group friendly châteaux:
Whichever experience you choose, and wherever you choose to do it, students will return home with more than memories. They’ll return with confidence, independence and a renewed enthusiasm for French.

For many students, speaking French outside the classroom can feel like a big leap. Our French Language Enrichment programme is designed to make that leap feel exciting rather than daunting.
Through a carefully balanced combination of language-focused activities, cultural experiences and authentic opportunities to interact with French language and culture, students begin to use what they’ve learned in meaningful ways – and begin to realise they already know more French than they thought!

French language immersion trips
Ready to take the stabilisers off? Our French Language Immersion experiences place students at the heart of a French-speaking environment where communication becomes part of everyday life. Developed in partnership with Escale Bretagne, a leading French language provider with more than 20 years’ experience, our un, deux, trois français programme combines active challenges, games and shared experiences to encourage students to use French naturally in meaningful, real-world situations.
Every French language immersion programme is built around one of three activity themes:
Creativity – Creative challenges, collaborative projects and cultural experiences.
Sports & Games – Team challenges, active learning and problem-solving activities.
Nature – Outdoor exploration, discovery and communication through shared experiences.
From breakfast conversations and team challenges to evening activities and cultural visits, students are encouraged to think, respond and interact in French throughout their stay.
Château d’Ebblinghem, Opal Coast
At Château d’Ebblinghem, the château itself becomes part of the language-learning experience.
French isn’t limited to a workshop or activity session. Instead, it’s the common thread running through every aspect of the programme.
Supported by our experienced French-speaking Group Co-ordinators and carefully designed activities, students quickly gain confidence and begin using French more naturally than they ever imagined possible.
Château de Grande Romaine, Paris
Paris provides the ultimate backdrop for a truly immersive language experience.
Using the city as their classroom, students navigate authentic situations, complete language missions and engage with French culture at every turn.
It challenges them, stretches them and ultimately shows them just how far their language skills can take them.

The most popular questions, answered
By using French in authentic situations and experiencing life in another country, students discover what they’re capable of. Whether they’re taking part in language challenges, interacting with local culture or navigating new experiences with their peers, they often return home with greater confidence, independence and a willingness to step outside their comfort zone.
From browsing local markets and sampling French cuisine to experiencing everyday life in France, students gain a genuine insight into the culture. These real-world experiences help bring their language learning to life and create a deeper connection with the people, places and traditions they encounter.
Learning becomes more meaningful when students can experience it for themselves. Whether they’re exploring Paris, taking part in interactive language activities or sharing new experiences with friends, these moments can create lasting memories and inspire a greater enthusiasm for learning.
A stay in one of our exclusive French châteaux allows students to be fully immersed in the experience from the moment they arrive. With accommodation, activities and shared experiences all on site, the château provides a supportive setting where confidence and communication can flourish.
From the coastal communities of northern France to the world-famous landmarks of Paris, students experience different sides of French culture. Exploring these destinations helps them understand the country’s history, traditions and way of life while seeing how language is used beyond the classroom.
Alongside developing their language skills, students often return with greater confidence, independence and self-belief. The experience helps them see the value of language learning in the real world while creating memories that can stay with them long after the trip has ended.

“We have developed an exclusive programme with Esto to place our tried and tested learning tool, “Un, deux, trois français: immersive learning in France” at the very heart of their immersive school trips and tours at the chateau.
Our dynamic 3-dimensional technique, based on creativity, discovery and active learning has been widely used for decades as a means of nurturing ability, developing communication skills, building confidence and perhaps most importantly encouraging the enjoyment of discovering and using the French language. Since the very outset of our project, pedagogy has remained our priority: developing the most effective, accessible and varied means of providing positive learning outcomes.”
