Meet Harry

“Hi, I’m Harry, and I’m a Tour Designer at Esto. I’m fun‑loving, dedicated, and completely people‑driven. I pride myself on my people skills and my ability to make (nearly) anyone laugh – and I genuinely care about my job and the teachers I work with. Some of the relationships I’ve built over the years will stay with me for life (you know who you are).

After finishing university, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do – until my mum (who also works here) suggested I join the team. Forgive the cliché, but I honestly haven’t looked back since. The relationships I’ve built with both the team and hundreds of incredible teachers across the UK are what make this role so rewarding. Not a single day goes by without laughing out loud with colleagues or chatting to my favourite group leaders.

What really keeps me motivated is knowing I play a small part in sending thousands of students all over the world to create memories that last a lifetime. Being involved in those experiences – even from behind the scenes – is something I never take for granted. It’s genuinely one of the most fulfilling and rewarding jobs I can imagine, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

When it comes to trip planning, my advice is always to get in early. The sooner we get the ball rolling, the better the options and prices available. I’m also a big believer in involving students in the planning process — their input often leads to higher engagement and an even smoother trip. Wherever possible, I also encourage on‑the‑go lunches so students can experience local food and culture (especially great for language students getting to put their skills into practice).

Outside of work, I keep things busy. You’ll usually find me gaming, at the gym, watching UFC, building Lego (yes, really), or catching up with friends. Somewhere in there, I also have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics — but I’m still undecided on whether that counts as interesting or not.”

Harry’s top tips

Get in early

Get in early before everyone else; the sooner we get the ball rolling, the better prices we can get for you!

Get lunch on-the-go

For most destinations, picking up lunch on-the-go is a much better experience for all involved. Students get a taste of the local cuisine which hugely adds to the cultural exposure. This works even better for MFL students – get them to use their language skills!

Ask the students

Not sure on visits? Ask the students! We find that having student input helps with uptake and an even smoother experience!
