Raspberry Pi Board Member Awarded OBE

David Braben, Raspberry Pi pioneer and video-game extraordinaire, has been appointed OBE at the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The honour was given for the work he has done for both the UK's video game and computer industries.

Braben is a part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, developers of the Raspberry Pi, which aims to put the fun back into learning computer science in schools, and was instrumental to the changes to the ICT curriculum for 2014/15.

He is also a living legend in the video-game industry. His game Elite, created in 1982, is still considered the breakthrough title that defined the modern space flight simulation genre, as well as being influential upon gaming as a whole.

Congratulations David! Clive Beale, Director of Educational Development at the Raspberry Pi Foundation will be speaking at ICT Live! Make sure you book your place today!
