EST visit Krakow!

Poland has always been an important location for schools studying the Second World War to visit and we wanted to get a better idea why. So last week, we sent Hollie and Sarah along with veteran travellers Paula and Laura over to Krakow.

Hollie was kind enough to put pen-to-paper (or more accurately fingers-to-keyboard) to give you guys a brief glimpse of what you'd expect from your own tailor-made tour to Krakow.

"This trip was one of the best trips I have been on, especially as we got to do most of the visits our customers take, and see all of the hotels they stay at. My favourite part of the trip was The Galicia Jewish Museum; the sensational amount of history collected here was a complete surprise and exceeded my expectations.

"Despite renovations being carried out, the Synagogue in the Jewish quarter was still a great highlight; we were also able to visit the cemetery which was very interesting.

"The trip to Krakow gave us brilliant insight into Polish history. There is much more to Krakow than just the Second World War as we found out on our guided tours of the old town and the Jewish district.

"Krakow has a lot to offer: the museums are brilliant and combined with the visit to Auschwitz showcased just how devastating the aftermath of World War II was on the Jewish communities throughout Europe. Everywhere we ate, the food was delicious and great value and the standard of hotels was surprisingly good. I would recommend anyone studying World War II as part of their curriculum to take a school trip to Krakow."
