Schools are increasingly incorporating “Enrichment Week” in to their school year. Teachers and students are using Enrichment Week more and more creatively and this week now appears in school calendars in so many different forms.
Fashion groups have gone on trips to London to explore retail stores, buy plain t-shirts, they’ve then decorated them and showcased them in a fashion show at the end of the week. Media teams have spent days with a national newspaper and then produced their own school newspaper, which is then written and produced in a week. Other schools pick a subject or topic such as the Victorian era and involve a school visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum in their week for all the students.
Paris and Barcelona are also hot destinations for Enrichment Week as easily accessible and these cities have an abundance of student friendly visits and accommodation. Visits in this week to Paris have included interactive drama workshops and cookery sessions at Paris Catering College. Tours to Barcelona have had students visiting champagne caves or tapas tasting and of course students love a day in Spain’s famous theme parks, Port Aventura or Caribe Aquatic Park.
