Anyone booking their group tour with us will receive a standardised ATOL certificate, making it clear how the trip is protected and by whom, as well as providing information on what to do it something goes wrong, giving our customers that peace of mind.
Operated by the CAA, ATOL protects people when they book a holiday with a travel company in the UK. It ensures they don't lose money paid over or become stranded abroad if their travel company collapses.
ATOL protects around 20 million people who book air holidays and flights with travel companies each year. Booking with an ATOL travel company means consumers can be confident that if something does go wrong whilst away, ATOL protection makes sure you can still continue your trip and return home safely.
On 26th December 2012, the CAA is launching its new digital advertising campaign to promote the benefits of ATOL Protection and highlight the importance of the ATOL certificate. This campaign focuses on a new strapline "ATOL. Pack Peace of Mind'.
Over 17 million people in the UK booked ATOL protected air holidays in 2011-2012, with January being the travel industry's busiest month of the year.
Richard Jackson, Group Director of Consumer Protection at the Civil Aviation Authority said: 'The ATOL scheme provides that peace of mind and is set to protect over two million people who book air holidays this January.'
