New for 2021! We’re bringing Maths LIVE! to the UK taking place at our activity centre in Liddington. 

Maths LIVE! UK combines a conference led by expert speakers, workshops & talks, team-based challenges and outdoor adventure activities.  See our great value 3-day itinerary below. 

This three-day weekend event is designed to encourage students to develop confidence in mathematics and to recognise the importance of mathematics in the world around them whilst also improving their ability to work together as a team, improve self-confidence, develop resilience and learn new skills.

Maths LIVE! UK brings together the best possible learning experience for your students in a fun, memorable and safe environment. We are pleased to advise that our centres are operating under COVID-secure guidelines and all appropriate measures are in place.

Who is this event for?

The event is aimed at Key Stage 4 students of Maths and is designed to complement studies within the AQA, OCR, Edexcel syllabus as well as complementing WJEC and SQA qualifications.

Dr Matt Pritchard, Maths & Science Magician

Dr Matt Pritchard is a maths and science magician and Curator of Wonder; his amazing performances both inspire and inform.

Previously Matt conducted atomic physics research at Durham University. In addition to this experience, he has 19 years working as a professional magician and is an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle - one of only 300 people in the world to hold this distinction.

In 2018 he won the Hoffman Memorial lecture competition with his essay on the compatibility of science and magic. Matt is also a Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association, a finalist in their annual Speaker Factor competition and a TEDx speaker.

Bobby Seagull

Bobby Seagull is a school maths teacher and Cambridge University Doctorate student. Before moving into education, he was an investment banking trader at Lehman Brothers & Nomura, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant from PwC.

Bobby is an ambassador for the charity National Numeracy, a presenter for an Open University course on personal finance for young adults, a regular contributor to Radio Four’s Puzzle For Today and a columnist for the Financial Times.

He’s also author of The Life-Changing Magic of Numbers (which reached #50 Amazon UK best sellers over Christmas 2018) and co-presenter of the podcast Maths Appeal. With his University Challenge friend, Bobby co-wrote The Monkman & Seagull Quiz and co-presented a BBC TV series Monkman & Seagull’s Genius Guide to Britain.

Small group sessions, led by our conference speakers & other experts in their field, will allow your students to discover and engage with a range of topics from social enterprise projects to impact of psychological resilience. 

  • Team-based challenges

Selected to enable your students to demonstrate control, commitment, confidence and responses to challenge. Team challenge themes include; gaining confidence, beyond the comfort zone & working together.

  • Outdoor adventure activities

Adventure activities to keep everyone engaged, motivated and inspired, from zip wire to the trapeze! 

  • Our on-site Events Team will provide support throughout your stay, they’ll: 
    • Meet you on arrival & assist with centre check-in 
    • Be on-hand & provide assistance throughout the weekend  
    • Assist with check-out & departure
