Enhanced Cleaning Measures

The School Travel Forum is a group of leading school tour operators who promote good practice and safety in school travel.  As Assured Members of the STF, we have been working with our trusted transport, accommodation and visit partners to ensure their services adhere to local government COVID-Secure health and safety practices - giving you the reassurance you need to travel with confidence.

Enhanced safety measures include the following procedures:

Accommodation Measures:

  • Enhanced daily cleaning regimes, including more frequent cleaning of high traffic areas
  • Social distancing throughout the accommodation
  • Hand sanitiser dispensers available for guests
  • Staff training on enhanced health & safety policies

Transport Measures - Airlines & Airports:

  • Face coverings are compulsory in enclosed areas in some UK airports
  • New boarding processes may be in place to minimise close contact between passengers
  • Passengers may be required to wear a face covering during the flight - this is dependent on the individual airline 
  • Modern airplanes have cabin air filtration systems equipped with HEPA filters which recycles the air every 3 minutes
  • Each airline and airport will have increased cleaning and disinfection measures in place

Transport Measures - Coaches:

  • Enhanced cleaning, including more frequent cleaning of high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser will be made available on the coach
  • New processes may be in place for boarding and disembarkation
  • During the loading/unloading of luggage, the driver will wear a face covering
  • Pupils will be asked to remain in the same seat throughout the journey

My Tour Manager is a tour organiser designed to save the group organiser valuable time.

All the trip paperwork and information is online, together in one central area and is accessible 24/7 on PC, mobile and tablet.

With the group's tickets and vouchers being stored on the travel app, this means that the group will have fewer personal touchpoints during their journey, thereby utilising some of the new safety measures put in place by our airline, accommodation and visit partners.
