The Musée les Arts Decoratifs or the Museum of Decorative Arts is located in a wing of the Louvre. The museum’s collections give visitors an insight into the decorative arts from medieval times to the present day.
In the museum, there is a range of exhibits; a bedroom from the 15th century, the numerous pieces created by porcelain factories such as Sèvres and Saint Cloud. You can also observe the birth and development of art nouveau with its typical curves and floral motifs.
Contemporary designers and artists are also on display towards the end of the exhibition including the Bouroullec brothers. From time to time there are also temporary exhibitions that display the rich collections from the departments of fashion and textiles, advertising and graphic design that are all conserved by the museum.
