Science Live! Educational Science Event

Science Live! is designed to give learners the opportunity to come face to face with expert speakers whose knowledge and skill will add value to the teaching and learning experience.

As part of the immersive educational experience, each student will receive their own workbook in advance of the event for pre-trip preparation as well as including park challenges for them to complete throughout the course of the weekend, all covering the fundamentals of Science at Key Stage 4.

Our Educational Events held at Disneyland Paris are the best value you'll find anywhere!

We include group travel insurance as part of our package and unlike other tour operators, we won't charge any supplements for regional pick-ups when you travel by coach.

Also held on the same day will be Business Live!, Maths Live! and Computing Live! making this the ideal event to bring a mixed group of students from across the curriculum!

    Dr Andrew Szydlo
    Chemist

    Dr Andrew Szydlo<br>Chemist

Dr Andrew Szydlo is a renowned chemist and teacher and is proof, if it were needed that science is far from dull.  He has given talks and demonstrations at the Royal Institution, for The Lost Lectures, at the Secret Garden Party Festival, as well as several TV appearances.   His public demonstration lectures are theatrical and spectacular, he often disappears in a huge cloud of smoke, swings teapots of liquid nitrogen high above his head, and creates large explosions.  The message however is a more serious one, to explain how useful science can be in everyday life. "My message is, that people can do more with science than they realise. In today's society everyone takes things for granted, and they are used to an easy life, but understanding how things work is very important".

We will be working with Dr Szydlo to pre-film a series of demonstrations that he will use as a part of his presentation on fireworks and special effects.

      Disney's Hotel Cheyenne®

      Rating: 2 Star

The authentic flavour of the Wild West is all around, in the best tradition of all your favourite classic Hollywood westerns. This on-site hotel offers easy access to the Disneyland ® Parks and Village and all guests benefit from extra magic hours giving you early access to the Parks before gates open to the public.

Rooms are located in 14 frontier style buildings all named after characters from western folklore grouped around a main street with covered porches and wooden walkways. The western styling runs through into the bedrooms and the hotel restaurant, The Chuck Wagon Cafe.

Students will be provided with a workbook prior to the event which will include a programme of the event as well as background information about the speakers. The workbooks will include park challenges to complete and are a great research tool to be used in the classroom prior to travelling to help students to prepare questions for the Q&A sessions at the conference. As part of this experience, students have the opportunity to quiz speakers, which is always lively, and the presenters are invariably on the receiving end of some testing questions.
