European Study Tours were delighted to welcome almost 1,000 students to the Palais des Congrés in Paris for our flagship event, Your Future In Europe on Saturday 8th February.
Journalist and broadcaster Kirsty Lang chaired the day and during the morning students were given an enthusiastic and informative insight into Human Rights, the Eurozone Crisis and working and studying abroad thanks to Shami Chakrabarti, Evan Davis and Arne Mielken.
Fraser Doherty's Superjam story made the processes of starting up a business make sense in an inspirational and lively presentation.
The day ended with a lively Question Time Session. Students had the opportunity to quiz Kenneth Clarke, MP, Simon Hughes, MP and Angela Eagle, MP representing the Conservative, Liberal Democrats and Labour parties, as well as speakers Shami Chakrabarti and Evan Davis.
Our Focus on French and Focus on Business events were a great start to the weekend on Friday 7th February.
During Focus On French, students learnt the importance of languages and gained a fantastic insight into french culture, society and the economy. Zoe Diderich, an interpreter and translator in the field of public services, covered education and employment as well as live demonstration of interpreting with a member of the audience; Stéphanie Bouchet, founder of Rouge Frog marketing services covered healthy lifestyle, and Lexi Martone, on healthy wellbeing and eating habits.
Focus On Business speakers Mark Brill, CEO of Formation, a media & marketing agency and Stéphanie Bouchet were very informative. The day was rounded off with a guided walking tour of La Défense, the city's business district.
