As most of you would be aware by now, Calais has had it's fair share of problems in the summer, with an ongoing feud disrupting travel for a large number of holidaymakers this month.
While we weren't immune to it ourselves, European Study Tours never compromise on the safety and security of our groups abroad. It's why when we created our Customer Charter we needed to include our commitment to our customer's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whilst they're on holiday.
One of our most important responsibilities as an educational tour operator is ensuring the safety of our groups. In-line with DCSF and Scottish Executive guideline and after consulting with RoSPA (The Royal Society of Prevention of Accidents) we have developed a Safety Management System, which helps ensure elements of your tour remain of a high standard. The Safety Management System covers the following elements of your tour:
- 24 Hour Emergency Cover
- Tour Operator Liability Insurance
- Pre-Tour Safety Information

It's this that helped to assist The Perse School who had spent 3 great days in Paris and were unfortunate to get stuck on the way back. Pierre Pallet, Head of French had this to say:
"I was very impressed by the support I got from Laura when stranded in Paris with my group of pupils for an extra night due to strikes at Calais; her concern for us, the speed with which she responded to my call and found us accommodation were all very impressive.
"You really felt supported and genuinely cared for. It is rare on those circumstances and I cannot praise enough Laura and her team for their help on this occasion. We are certainly booking future trips through EST rather than other providers as a result. Thank you".
No, thank you Pierre for choosing to travel with European Study Tours! Can't wait to see you again next year.
