Sponsors of our events named 'Enterprise of the year' in Nexus Commonwealth Awards 2013

Following on from The Achievers International online enterprise programme makes the shortlist in the category of 'Enterprise of the Year' , The Enterprise Education Trust (EET) announced it has been named 'Enterprise of the Year' in the prestigious Nexus Commonwealth Awards 2013.

This award recognises organisations outside of the formal Commonwealth network which connect people and communities across boarders.

The 'Enterprise of the Year' award also recognised Achievers International efforts to empower young people to seek opportunities and forge enterprises across borders and was especially relevant as the Commonwealth theme for this year is 'Opportunity through Enterprise'.

Their nomination summary:

"In short, we feel that Achievers International is a true Commonwealth enterprise of note, committed throughout the organisation's values and words and deeds to enabling development, promoting democracy and respecting diversity - and indeed for embodying the Commonwealth theme of 'Opportunity through Enterprise' in so many inspiring ways."

Sir Paul Judge, Chairman, EET, says "I am delighted that Achievers International - the Enterprise Education Trust's online programme - has been named 'Enterprise of the Year' at the prestigious Nexus Commonwealth Awards 2013. It is a fantastic endorsement of our work to support young people. It is also recognition that our work, in our 35th Anniversary Year, remains as vitally important as ever to youn people in the UK, and throughout the Commonwealth."

David Millar, Chief Executive, EET, says : "It is absolutely brilliant news that we have been named as 'Enterprise of the Year' at the Nexus Commonwealth Awards 2013. Schools in Commonwealth countries have really taken the project to heart. We have schools from across the Commonwealth - in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Australia, Cyprus as well as the UK all taking part. Creating 'Opportunity through Enterprise' really does sum up what we do."

The Enterprise Education Trust was set up in 1977 by 3i to inform, involve and inspire young people about business and enterprise.
