Representing the Liberal Democrats, Lord Macdonald of River Glaven QC will be a guest panelist at our Question Time session at YOur Future in Europe.
A founder member of Matrix Chambers, Ken Macdonald was appointed a Recorder of the Crown Court in 2001 and elected Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association in 2003. Later that year he became Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the first prominent defence lawyer to have been appointed to that post. As DPP, he established the Counter Terrorism Division, the Organised Crime Division, the Special Crime Division and the Fraud Prosecution Service.
In July 2010, Lord Macdonald became a Liberal Democrat Peer and in the same year became member of the House of Lords. He was also a member of the House of Lords Constitution Committee from 2012-2013.
Lord Macdonald became Warden of Wadham College, University of Oxford in 2012 where he continues to serve the College in strengthening their international reputation for world class scholarship and research.
Lord Macdonald has a special interest in emerging international criminal liabilities which we’re sure will be touched upon in the Question Time session. He joins our amazing panellists Diane Abbott (Labour) and Dominic Grieve QC MP (Conservatives) along with Shami Chakrabarti (Liberty) and Evan Davis (Newsnight, Dragons Den) who will all be fielding questions on the day from the students attending.
