“Enrichment Week” is now an essential and integral part of every schools' calendar. Teachers and students are using Enrichment Week more and more creatively to ensure students experience something different and exciting. From School Trips to Amsterdam to zumba dancing you will find it included in an enrichment week somewhere.
Fashion students have gone on fashion trips to London to explore retail stores, buy plain t-shirts, they’ve then decorated them and showcased them in a fashion show at the end of the week. Media students have spent days with a national newspaper and then produced their own school newspaper, which is then written and produced in a week. Other schools pick a subject or topic such as the Victorian era and involve a school visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum in their week for all the students.
Oustide of the UK Paris and Barcelona are favourite destinations for Enrichment Week. These cities are easily accessible and have an abundance of student friendly visits and accommodation. Student tours to Paris have included interactive drama workshops and cookery sessions at a Paris Catering College. Tours to Barcelona have had students visiting champagne caves or tapas tasting or time at Spain’s famous theme parks, Port Aventura or Caribe Aquatic Park.
